Biography
Patricia was born in Mende, the Lozčre region of France.
In addition to the tremendous amount of art she was exposed to in Paris
where she was raised, there was the cultural impact of her own
heritage: Her father was born in Paris although his family was
from Bretagne, and her mother in Port Vendres, Catalogne.
This north/south combination seemed to create in Patricia a lifelong
love of different cultures and lands.
As a young girl, Patricia began to draw her environs and at the age of
thirteen received her first commission for Monseigneur Feltin of Paris.
She then began studying the techniques and styles of the French, English
and Dutch old Masters while traveling and living through Europe. This
period, while not directly influencing her present work has provided the
strong foundation upon which it is now built.
In 1963, Patricia began to paint professionally after studying in
Holland with the noted Dutch surrealist and portraitist Diana Vandenberg
of the Hague.
Patricia has lived and displayed her work in numerous places around the
world. Her work has evolved into a distinct and original style, and
ranges from portraits to expressionistic landscapes as well as botanical
studies.
It is this ability to express her feelings through different
approaches, which have made her work so interesting.
